Are small laptops beneficial for kids online communications? Mini laptops are quite frequently used as student laptops from university level to much younger kids. The LAN which uses the 802.11g specification offers up to 54 Mbps speeds. In other words this is how fast the data will travel from one computer to another over the local network. The specification operates in the 2.4 GHz frequency.

The 802.11g standard is extremely popular in mini laptops, WiFi netbooks and other computers currently, and is fully backwards compatible with numerous networks in homes, offices and public areas which use the 802.11b specification.
